Hi , , spammy backlinks shouldn't affect your rankings or SEO as long as you have plenty of good links. This is because Google won't penalise you for something your competitor could do to you. If building spammy links harmed a website I would be doing it to all my competitors! Just ensure that you have good quality links as well and ensure you don't link to any spammy sites because that will affect your rankings!

Spam back links are very harmful for your site. It can hurt your page rank in the search engines so I always suggest o avoid this.

According to me putting a backlink on spamming sites is harmful to search ranking. But I think if you remove the bad backlinks and continue to build more relevant backlinks to increase the site authority to major search engines.

Spam backlinks effects rankings. Take a look at webmaster central blog on 27th July Matt Cutts published a post on backlinks. Google is now sending messages to website (s) that contains low quality or spam links.
