One of my have been in designing for many years but recently he got into photography. He have sold a few pieces for good sums but it takes time to get the work about on the web. What are the key points he should apply for that he really need to have self promote?

Are you asking what he could in order to improve his marketing strategy? Well first of all he must have an impressive and organized portfolio. Next, he could try taking advantage of social media and get people to talk about his work. If he is any good, this should be successful to a certain degree.

Social media is a good marketing instrument in any business. Facebook is the number one option.
