Hi there, I've heard that Google considers the domain age as an important SEO factor, as that works filtering some spammy domains. How important do you think this is? Any help will be appreciated.

Age of a domain is very important because of the backlinks and traffic accumulated by a site that may increase the chance of getting on top of SERPs.

The age of the domain is built up of how long the content has been actually on the web, how long the site has been in promotion, and even the last time content was updated. So the age of the domain name plays a vital role in ranking......... If you are having an old domain name...........that adds more credibility to your search engine rankings..especially Google gives more importance to domain age........... So using this site http://www.whoisxy.com/ , you can gather the information of the domain name creator and owner of the domain name also it displays the information of the domain name that is when is expired & created........its a easy way to find the age of domain name.........

One SEO related question which is often asked throughout webmaster forums is how much domain registration age is important for SEO. The points behind this question include: well-established sites have old domain names, so by reverse logics, an old domain should mean that the site is well established; spammers register and drop domains quickly, thus logically spamming sites usually have newly registered domain names.

Domain age can be useful with regards to keeping a site which can have possibilities of experiencing top rates over the net, but providing the old domain has been attached with an effective website during months and years of signing up, and not just using left details which have been abandoned with no physical web space, simply considered to be authorized details but with no existence because areas always need to be linked with effective websites on the internet.
